BGAI was excited to be brought on to a project with Collins Frazer Engineering to design the architectural elements of the renovation and expansion the Progressive Auto Sales Arena to accommodate the needs of the local OHL hockey team, the Sarnia Sting. The project included a new dressing room, locker room, washrooms and showers, player lounge, and staff and support spaces. The design features an industrial aesthetic with black and yellow accent colors, creating a modern and dynamic environment that reflects the team’s identity and our local industrial background. The dressing rooms were designed with custom-built player stalls, an area to display game tape, and light feature displaying the well-known logo of the Sarnia Sting.
Additional spaces such as the player lounge, staff office, and medical room were designed to support the team’s needs both on and off the ice. The player lounge offers a comfortable area for relaxation and team bonding, complete with comfortable seating and a kitchen. The staff office provides a functional workspace for coaching and administrative tasks, and the medical room is fully equipped for player treatment and rehabilitation. The equipment repair room features a workstation and organized storage for maintenance tasks. Custom built display cases line the corridor to showcase the team’s trophies and memorabilia, celebrating their achievements and history.
